Airports
Jamba Juice is overrated and airports are actually pretty depressing.
Maybe it’s the weather conditions but everyone always seems to be so devoid of life at airports. Probably for the same reason everyone looks so devoid of life on the train; nobody wants to be there, but they have to get somewhere.
My experiences at airports have more times than not been an inconvenience and honestly fairly invasive. I typically end up getting flagged by TSA for something, this is an annoying part of travel that I’ve began to account for when leaving for flights. Is it racial? That much I can’t confirm; but it is frustrating to say the least to be patted down multiple times or have to wait at the side for 5-10 minutes for an agent to open one pocket of my bag and tell me I’m good to go.
I’d assume none of this is actually due to poorly packed items or not having anything that I’m not supposed to (based on past experiences and fairly regular travel I’ve gotten pretty good at packing for exactly what I need within regulations, the only times I can be certain that I’ll be flagged for a bag check is when I travel with my medium format, the scanner hates that thing for some reason.)
I don’t really know where I’m going in writing this one in particular, I guess I’d just like to go to an airport without having an experience that makes me NOT want to travel by air. Craziest thing is the flight is actually the least anxiety inducing part of my journey.
Ayo Alexa, queue up Birth of a Winner by Marleek; these agents got me hot 😡
