Big love to my brother Jose for popping back out for the second conversation, but this time we doing it as Black Sheep tho *nod emoji*. I know we’re usually outdoors, but for this one we coming to you from our first collective show: “Accretion” @ Not Another GALLERY!. We had the pleasure of having a space on the 8th and 9th of this month where we were able to showcase both of our works, as well as have a temporary hub for our group.
We were super tired from all the set up and celebration for the show so this conversation definitely runs a bit shorter than most other videos but it’s of course littered with numerous gems. This conversation basically serves as a look into our creative process, our thought process behind the works, and what we aim to accomplish with Black Sheep; it also features a Q&A with the audience during the last 15 minutes.
Big shoutout to everyone who came through, the event was a big success in our eyes; we truly do appreciate anyone who stopped by, had a conversation, bought work, dropped off food donations - anything along the lines of partaking in and cultivating community!
Can't forget to shoutout the young legend Darryl on camera as well as the sis Adri for coordinating the food drive, we were able to collect two duffels worth of goods to donate to those affected by the loss of SNAP benefits; so big thank you to everyone for showing out for that. The work everyone out the camp does truly is unfathomable, I got so much love and appreciation for all of y'all. *praise emoji*
We plan on having a lot more events & programming within the future, so we hope you guys follow along on the journey. If you'd like to be part of what we're trying to create: 100% reach out; much like we said, none of this happens without community.
