DHM Pieces: Delivery 1
DHM Pieces
My first delivery of 1/1 items. All items were made between 2024 and 2025 and consists of button up shirts, jeans, a skirt, a pair of shoes and a keychain. More information on the items listed below in order:
“Acne” Shirt
Polyester
2024
Inspired by my visit to the Acne Studios store in West Village, there was this button up shirt that they had that had this super wide fit with open arm sleeves. I thought the concept was super dope but of course I couldn’t afford it (Acne Studios really costs a bag); so I reimagined the concept, got the materials, and drafted a pattern of the shirt. After a few drafts and prototypes I landed at V3 which is the red shirt you’re seeing in the slideshow. It operates more like an overshirt more than a shirt itself and offers more than enough space for you to layer underneath.
It’s Ralph Doe…
Cotton
2025
I always found those Needles reconstructed shirts to be wild tough, so I made my own (A recurring theme of my work seems to be making my own version cuz I can’t afford the actual thing *shrug*). The shirt consists of 3 button up shirts constructed for a wide oversized fit with drop shoulders and wide arm sleeves. All shirts were thrifted and part of my wardrobe for a prolonged period of time (Reimagine old clothing for a new feel).
Davo’s APCs
Denim (cotton)
2025
I bought my first pair of APCs in 2020… I actually haven’t worn them that often since I started making my own jeans (I typically wear my V1 or V3’s since I want to see how an item I made myself would fade in and be shaped by my life); but one of the contributing factors to why I never really wore them is because they’re a slimmer fit that I typically enjoy. I’ve owned two pairs of APCs in my life so I decided fuck it, turn em into one. Davo’s APCs is a testiment to my initial interaction to selvedge and raw denim, but updated to fit the standards of my current life.
Jeans V1
Denim (Cotton)
2024
The first pair of jeans I made ever… There’s a lot wrong with this pair but I still love them immensely. Not only did these jeans mark a life accomplishment of mine (make a pair of jeans) but also marked the change in my views on how I wear and look at clothes. I started to worry less about buying clothes and I started thinking more about repairs and upgrades throughout life, all while merging the things that I hold very close (my love for raw denim, as many of my close friends know).
Jeans V3
Denim (Cotton)
2025
Yes I know V2 is missing, I was unable to take a photo of it because I made it for the homie Junior; I hope they’re holding up well for my brother but enough of that pair we talking about V3! So boom, I made V3 from a pair of Stussy jeans I had but didn’t wear anymore because I wanted a more lowkey look (the jeans had embroidery on it, it was dope but kinda odee), so I stole the pattern and made my own pair of black jeans from it. The fit is like a baggy straight leg and has quickly become one of my favorite pairs of jeans because it’s constructed far better than V1 OR V2 just because I learned more about making jeans and sewing between the time I made my last pair to this one (turns out taking apart a pair of jeans teaches you a lot about how the thing is put together).
“For Jasmin”
Denim (Cotton)
2025
A while back I told Jasmin I would make a pair of jeans for her, I never did that; but she did get a skirt! My first piece of womenswear, big influence of mine for this one was Yohji Yamamoto but I wanted to mix my interests of denim into my approach for the work (I actually wanted to use black denim but per request of the client she wanted the traditional indigo denim). It’s a skirt that fits down to ankles with corozo buttons and button flap enclosures for all the pockets. This also marks the first item that I’ve made completely from scratch (not using a preexisting pattern or reverse engineered from an existing clothing piece).
Beef & Broccoli Wally’s
Cotton/Suede
2025
I already wrote about these, you can find em in this blog post.
Black Sheep Keychain
Cotton
2025
Big shoutout to MadeByEmilia for making the keychain you heard *shout emoji*! This piece is a one off that is a precursor to a larger sheep I’d like to make for Black Sheep. It’s a crocheted sheep keychain, not much else to explain about it. It hangs on the back of my bike now so if you ever see a locked bike with a sheep hanging on the back in one of the 4 boroughs (fuck Staten); you know I’m somewhere in the vicinity like a rare Pokémon.
Second delivery for custom pieces coming… whenever I make more pieces, I’m a person not a machine *shrug*; but def look out for new jawns in the future. These items will be available to look at in the Black Sheep section of my site (unless I change it in the future, which I’ll have to remember to update this if I do).
Until next time, peace. *salute*
